The importance of the Quran and salah

31Mar09

Some gems from Sheikh Hassan Khalil’s tafseer of Surah Al-Fatihah at IlmSummit:

>> I put my forehead where my feet walk for Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala. (in sajdah)

>> Imam Ahmad rahimahullah said, “Look at your salah to see what kind of a Muslim you are. So if you want to see what Allah has for you in the hereafter, then first see what you do for him in your salah.”

>> The first time you stand in front of Allah is in salah, the second will be in the day of judgment. If your standing in this world has been done right, it will make the standing before Allah in the next life much easier.

>> Imam ibn al-Qayyim rahimahullah said about the Qur’an, “If you don’t read it, you are abandoning it. If you don’t listen to it, you are abandoning it. If you don’t understand it, you are abandoning it. If you don’t act upon it, you are abandoning it. If you don’t use it as a healer for the sickness, you are abandoning it. If you leave it for something else, you are abandoning it.”
