The Best 10 Days of the Year

We are already a few days into the best ten days of the year, so I thought I would share a few links/ahadith about it. I shared a short video about it last year. This year, I’ll post some ideas of what we can be doing during it.

Dr. Ali Shehata posted on the AlMaghrib forums, “… learning some of the morning and evening remembrances (thikr) and secondly learning some of the virtues of portions of the Quran. If we combine these two with the INTENTION to earn the reward from Allah as well as to continue them for the rest of our lives, this alone will give us a great deal of good.”

One of the adhkar he mentioned is the sayyid al-istighfar (the master of forgiveness).

Allahumma Anta Rabbee laa ilaah illa Anta, khalaqtani wa ana ‘abduka wa ana ‘ala ‘ahdika wa wad’ika maa asta’tu, a’oodhu bika min sharri ma sana’tu aboo’u laka bi ni’matika ‘alayya wa aboo’u laka bi dhanbi, faghfir li fa innahu laa yaghfir al-dhunoob illa anta.

(O Allah, you are my Lord. None has the right to be worshipped but You. You created me and I am Your slave, and I am faithful to my covenant and my promise (to You) as much as I can. I seek refuge with You from all the evil I have done. I acknowledge before You all the blessings You have bestowed upon me, and I confess to You all my sins. So I entreat You to forgive my sins, for nobody can forgive sins except You.).”

He [the Prophet (saas)] said: Whoever says this during the day, believing in it with certainty, then dies on that day before evening comes, will be one of the people of Paradise, and whoever says it at night, believing in it with certainty, then dies on that night before morning comes, will be one of the people of Paradise.” (Bukhari)
